Snapping Turtle
The other day, we're coming home from the farm, and Joe says, "Hey, there's a turtle!" Mom, very kindly, stops and we're looking at this turtle by the side of the road.
We realized that it was a snapper. You don't see those very often. He's pretty cool. Then, to try and scare us, he "inflated". That's the best word I can find to describe it. It looked like he got filled with air as he rose up and out on his legs to try and intimidate us.
He then proceeded to walk across the road. He started walking under our car, but then Mom was able to pull forward and we watched him until he was most of the way across, to make sure he didn't get hit by a car.
It was pretty sweet!
