Deadly Target by Elizabeth Goddard // Revell Reads Review

Criminal psychologist Erin Larson's dreams of a successful career come to a screeching halt when she nearly loses her own life in a boating accident on Puget Sound and then learns that her mother tried to commit suicide. She leaves her job as a criminal psychologist to care for her mother in Montana. At least she is able to produce her podcast, which focuses on solving missing persons cold cases.

Nathan Campbell's father was investigating such a case when he was shot, and now Nathan needs to enlist Erin's help to solve the case...

As the two dig deeper, it becomes clear that they, too, are being targeted--and that the answers to their questions are buried deep within the past Erin struggles to explain and longs to forget.

My Review

This one fell a little flat for me. Things felt disjointed and spread all over. Seattle. Boston. Montana. Too many events in too many places. And Erin’s reasons for pushing people away felt hollow. I’m sure any one would feel bad about what happened but it didn’t seem like enough to run from people. I didn’t quite get why she felt broken.

I did not suspect where things were going at all! There were lots of surprises. At the end things picked up and moved quickly and I got into the story more. It was a wild conclusion.

Thanks to NetGalley and Revell for a copy of this book. All opinions are my own and a favorable review was not required.
