Reading through the Bible: OT Prophets

I've read through the Bible before, but something interesting is standing out to me this time. I'm reading in "chronological order" (sort of) and right now I'm in the middle of the prophets. What's interesting is the pattern of judgement and hope.

The prophets tend to pronounce judgement on Israel/Judah, right along side with the pagan nations. It's not like "judgement for Israel, judgement for everyone else". No, Israel is judged alongside the pagan nations. Very telling and sad.

But then, God gives hope, not just to Israel, but to the pagan nations as well! I just find it interesting. It sort of foreshadows the day when all nations would be among His people.

There's my random thought for the day!
