We Won It All!

 

Team USA (6-2) defeated Team Puerto Rico (7-1) in the World Baseball Classic Championship Game. Puerto Rico had not lost a game in the entire series until last night. 

It wasn't even close as the US pounded out 8 runs on 13 hits and allowed no runs and, for the first six innings, no hits, to Puerto Rico. 

Our own Ian Kinsler got the scoring started with a two-run homer in the third inning. He did so well in the WBC. You can watch his home run with the link below:

Here is a little video about the whole team winning. Watch for the eagle mascot statue. It's not as goofy as I would have imagined. Well done, Team USA! First win in four tries.

The absolute best part is, all of the Tigers players made it through without significant injury!!!! Wa-hoooo!!!!!!! Now that the championship is over, they'll all be back to playing for us in Lakeland, and soon, Detroit. :)
