Blessings of Unity // Book Review + giveaway

The full title is "Blessings of Unity: God's Best for Our Marriages". With each chapter, it became  more and more clear that the principles Richard Case was present applied to much more than marriages.

The idea is simple yet so difficult. There are two main keys:
1) Abiding in the Vine and walking in the Spirit AND
2) Learning and applying the concept of unity

Those are the themes behind everything Case discusses in the book. It really is quite simple. That doesn't make it easy. I think one of the most interesting things to me was his take on disagreement. Case states that disagreement is perfectly good and even beneficial to unity. That sounds opposite, right? In the last chapter, he summarizes the main points of the book and says this,

"When we disagree (remember, it is necessary and valuable to the process)
we are to process through the disagreement with honor and respect; and
never work to persuade the other to acquiesce to our own desire but to
continue in process until we reach unity."

Case makes this point throughout the book, that disagreement is not incompatible with unity. You just have to remain open to the other person's thoughts, opinions, and feelings. It really was an eye-opening thought for me.

Yes, this book was written for married couples. But there is so much to be learned for anyone desiring to walk in unity in their relationships.

Also, there is a free ebook called "Unshakeable". As with Blessings of Unity, Unshakeable is simple and straight-forward, yet so incredibly difficult to live out. It challenges those of us who live in fear; who are shaken by our circumstances and surroundings. Get it here,

Do you want to explore more about living in unity? Do you know a couple who would benefit from this topic? If you would like to be entered to win a copy of Richard Case's book "Blessings of Unity", email me at smylinggirly.blog@gmail.com by OCTOBER 31st.
