Schrodinger's Cat and Christianity
Recently, I was lying in bed and my train of thoughts brought me to Schrodinger's Cat. Now, if you don't know what that is, the simple answer is, it is a thought experiment by really smart people about how this cat is in a box and it is dead and alive at the same time until you open the box and find out which state it really is in. Basically, since you don't know which state it is in, it is in both states at once. I don't really get it, but these really smart people do. So I was thinking, "Scientists can at least hypothesize about something like Schrodinger's Cat and believe (or at least think about the possibility of) it being dead and alive at the same time. Why then, can they not believe (or at least consider the possibility of) things like Jesus being 100% God and 100% man at the same time? or God being 3 in 1? or communion being bread, wine, body, and blood, all at the same time? or any other seemingly illogical thing about Christianity?" I mean, God always existing? That sounds completely impossible to our human minds! But it's true. So the question is, why is Schrodinger's Cat plausible, but God isn't? I know there really isn't an answer to this, but I thought it was interesting and decided to share it with you.
Good thoughts! But actually, the point of Schrödinger's cat thought experiment is that it's impossible for the cat to be both dead and alive, therefore attempting to disprove another theory of quantum mechanics (called superposition if you want to look it up). The theory was not disproven though because it only applies at a quantum level and a cat is not a quantum particle.
ReplyDeleteA cat isn't a quantum particle? Really?!? No, that can't be right.
ReplyDeleteReally?!?
