If grass was made sacred...
In case you don't know, I am taking a class on sociology right now. My latest assignment was to imagine how society would change if a profane (everyday) object was made sacred. I chose grass. Here is what I think life might be like if grass was viewed as sacred.
If grass were to become sacred, life would be much different. There would likely be laws prohibiting people and animals from walking on it as well as laws dictating how much water you have to give your grass and how long or short it should be. Most likely, digging and otherwise defacing grass would become taboo. There might even be laws regulating how many animals can graze at one time and for how long! Life certainly would be more difficult if grass were to be made sacred.
