 My Review

*There are some small spoilers in this review.*

I found Heather quite relatable. There were times when she'd be thinking to herself and processing her reactions and I would be nodding along in agreement with what she discovered. I think a lot of us prefer to help than accept help. No one likes to be needy but others like to help and that's what Heather learns.

It hurt my heart to learn of Heather's background and what she endured that made it hard for her to want Ryker to go through the same kind of things. I love how she and Travis were able to help him. The scene at the end for Ryker's birthday, to make up for all the ones he had missed, was so sweet!!!!

Heather's compassion as a doctor was encouraging. She helped anyone, even someone who many would have done nothing to help and potentially angered people because of giving that aid. I really liked her compassionate heart and how much she cared for those she was helping.

I only barely suspected the villain before it was confirmed. One interesting thing about them was that earlier in the book, during the phone calls, they seemed humane and almost remorseful of what they were doing. Like they felt they had no choice but didn't quite like it. Not so later on. They were dead inside.

I was BEYOND THRILLED to learn there is going to be a fourth book and it is about Caden!!!! I greatly look forward to it.

Many thanks to Revell for a copy of the book. All opinions are my own and a favorable review was not required.
