Looking ahead
As of October 4th, the baseball season is officially over for me. In reality, it's been over for a long time, but the games are done now. I'm glad. This season was a nightmare almost from the beginning. However, despite the overall failures, there have been plenty of bright spots. Mostly in the form of our young guys stepping up to the plate - if you will - when we needed guys to step up. Alex Wilson and Blaine Hardy were surprisingly steady in the bullpen when we needed stability. James McCann showed that he is our catcher of the future and the future started this year. Justin Verlander showed that he is our ace and can pitch like he used to now that he is healthy. Daniel Norris is going to be a big help to our rotation in the near future (hopefully, next year). Nick Castellanos showed big improvement at third and at the plate. And in September, the young kids who got called up from Toledo showed their stuff too.
The Tigers have hope going into 2016 and beyond. We aren't an aging team, we are a mixed team with veterans and rookies working together. We'll get some pitching help this offseason and next year, there is every reason in the world to believe we will be back to being the force we've been for the past 4-5 years.
Of course, even with injuries taking him out for a month, Miguel Cabrera was still Miguel Cabrera. He won his 4th batting title in 5 years. He finished with a .338 batting average, 18 points higher than the next guy in the American League and 5 points higher than the guy in the National League. He has the best average in all of baseball!!! He is something special and what he does every day is something special and I am so thankful that he is in Detroit and I get to see it day in and day out.

Nice write-up (and positive outlook)!
